Description

A frosty, tangy snack made from perfectly frozen seedless grapes. Icy-cold bites with a bright, sour pop, great straight from the freezer, in smoothies, or as a fun dessert garnish.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb seedless grapes (red, green, or black), stems removed

Optional, to balance tartness:

  • 12 tsp honey or maple syrup (light drizzle)
  • ½ tsp lemon or lime zest
  • A few torn mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash & dry well: Rinse grapes, then pat completely dry (dry grapes = fewer ice crystals).
  2. Tray-freeze: Arrange grapes in a single layer on a parchment-lined sheet. Freeze until solid, 2–3 hours.
  3. Bag & store: Transfer to an airtight freezer bag or container; keep frozen for easy snacking.
  4. Optional flavor-up: Before freezing, toss dried grapes with zest or a tiny drizzle of honey, or add mint after freezing for a fresh note.
  5. Serve: Enjoy straight from the freezer, or blend into smoothies, float in mocktails, or spoon over yogurt/ice cream.

Notes

Start sweet: Naturally sweeter varieties (e.g., Thompson/green seedless, Cotton Candy, and red seedless) freeze less tart.

Texture tip: Ultra-dry grapes = better snap and less frost.

Storage: Up to 3 months frozen in an airtight container.

Safety: Whole grapes can be a choking hazard for young children; slice as needed.

Teeth sensitivity: Let sit 2–3 minutes before eating if very cold.
