Ingredients
- 2 ribeye or New York strip steaks (1–1.5 inches thick)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for cooking)
- 1 tsp coarse salt
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper1 tbsp fresh parsley or thyme (chopped)
Instructions
- Preparing the Steak
- Choose well-marbled steak (ribeye or NY strip). Pat dry.
- Season generously with coarse salt and pepper on both sides.
- Cooking the Steak
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill until very hot.
- Sear steak 3–5 minutes per side for a golden crust.
- Check doneness with thermometer (Medium Rare: 130–135°F, Medium: 135–140°F).
- Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
- Making the Creamy Garlic Sauce
- In a pan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant (1 minute).
- Stir in heavy cream, simmer gently until thickened.
- Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Serving
- Plate steak and spoon creamy garlic sauce over the top.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme.
Notes
Use ribeye for maximum juiciness, or NY strip/sirloin for leaner cuts.
Do not overcook garlic (it will turn bitter).
Let steak rest before slicing to keep juices inside.
