Description

A hearty one-pot recipe featuring sweet corn, tender shrimp, creamy potatoes, and smoky sausage. Perfect for family dinners, gatherings, or weeknight meals: simple, flavorful, and satisfying!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage (sliced into rounds)
  • 1 lb baby red or Yukon gold potatoes (halved)
  • 4 ears fresh corn (cut into halves or thirds)
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1 lemon (cut into wedges, for serving)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preparing the Ingredients
    • Wash and cut potatoes into halves. Slice sausage into rounds. Shuck corn and cut into halves. Prepare shrimp (peel and devein if needed).
  2. Cooking the Base
    • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook for 10 minutes.
    • Add sausage and continue boiling for another 10 minutes.
  3. Adding Corn & Shrimp
    • Add corn pieces and cook for 5 minutes.
    • Finally, add shrimp and cook 3–5 minutes, until pink and opaque.
  4. Finishing & Serving
    • Drain water, transfer all ingredients to a large bowl or platter. Toss with melted butter, Old Bay, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
    •  Garnish with parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges.

Notes

Don’t overcook shrimp, remove as soon as they turn pink.

You can swap smoked sausage with andouille, kielbasa, or Italian sausage.

Add more spice with cayenne or hot sauce.

This dish reheats well on stovetop with a splash of broth.
